Miss Makayla

Makayla Beck will go down in my book as one of my most favorite brides!  She was my first wedding when I started back out on my own after having babies and enduring divorce.  There are brides that plan a wedding and brides that plan a marriage, but she was my only bride that did both!  To say that she adored Paul is a gross understatement!  These two kids truly loved each other and could not wait to get married, but not without a truly great party first!  Mother of the bride was ready {and often found on her knees praying for great weather} for a giant tent in the backyard plastered in twinkle lights and giant paper lanterns!  Pink and shades of pink were the only ticket into this gala, along with one giant amazing cake smack dab in the middle of the tent that stood 8 feet tall.  I live by the mantra, "Never let them see you sweat", but this family witnessed me in tears as the rain and wind were wreaking havoc the night before the wedding as I ascended a latter for the next 6 hours straight creating romantic ambiance genius!  I did the photography, flowers, planning, decor, and everything but bake a cake on this wedding and when it was all said and done had one incredibly pleased bride and a huge sense of personal gratification.

who is this little missy that goes by the name of Pieper

So I often get the burning question who is Pieper and what is JPieper!  So this is the face behind what I do!  Now granted I have been doing this way before the little person came along, but once the book is released years from now, the world will understand why this one is extra special!  Just for public record this is not mom picking out the favorite child so that you can all point the finger at me in hours of therapy when you become adults!  Pieper will some day do whatever makes her the most happy, but in the meantime though, she makes part of my world pretty spectacular!  She is by far my greatest challenge here on earth in so many wonderful ways.  She is the curse that my father uttered many years ago at the kitchen table when he said I would have a child just like me some day and then I would understand his grief!
So JPieper is all those little things that gravitate to embellish the ordinary to something extraordinary and magical.  I really will never believe that something is just good enough.  I believe!  I know that "things" and "stuff" and such mean very different things to every individual person.... I just find joy in creating stuff into moments of joy at different occasions throughout life.

Thrifty...maybe, but I would label it as eclectic vintage!  I can not bring myself to buy too many things off the furniture show room floor.  Maybe it has been the fact that I have been limited in my budget from being a single mom for so many years, maybe it is because I have never cared for matchy matchy things my entire life, who knows and who cares!  I have spent several years finding little pieces here and there between garage sales and thrift stores and then refinishing them to suit my style.  I had dared to venture out and do this for my clients until about a year ago.  Clearly their taste is not the same as mine and that is just dandy, as long as the end product is the look they had in mind then I consider it a success!  The size of the piece and the finish will determine the price, but without a doubt it will be far more unique then what your neighbor has in her house!

Holy blast it was such a bloody hot day for this cute wedding out at the golf course!  The pretty little orbs hanging in the gazebo where the bride and groom were going to greet their guests until the thermometer exploded never got the appreciation they deserved.  Have no  fear though, the inside fireplace with the chic green gladiolas in tall clear vases and lots of candles adorning the mantle proved to be just as amazing!  Leslie my side kick was a friend of the bride and covered all the fun details in this wedding, and I rounded out the edges with my handy work with the flowers.  My friends at Marvellous Catering in Provo are hands down my favorite caterers, and they did not disappoint with the savory treats at this wedding.

Mitch and Kailin

Oh how I love this little couple!  Besides the fact that they are 2 little hotties ( need to post their wedding picture) they are truly the sweetest people inside and out!  Kailin is just like my little miss Pieper....an individual one of a kind soul!  Kailin was getting married in the heat of the summer in Utah and choose rich fall colors.... luv, luv, luv it!  What her and her mother choose was perfect and all I did was bring it all together for the big day!  The orange popped and the gold shimmered in the twinkle lights that draped above the guests in the large open atrium at Highland Gardens.  Her parents and brothers were my tireless crew during the set up and I could not have asked for better help!
Best deal of all though... her mother sews like no one else and I traded my services for her services and now my house is finally coming together!  Talk about a women that can read my mind... Patrice works with fabric like I work with flowers, so the result is stunning!  So I will post the pictures of her lush creations and you so need to call and hire her for your next project to polish out your house!
